About this independent collection

A clearer path through legal sources.

The Philippine Law Library brings together available laws, court decisions, and research references in a searchable reading space. Each record keeps its source identity and available citations close to the text.

What the collection is

This is an independent research library, not a government or court publication. Its catalogue includes Philippine constitutions, legislation, court decisions, and research references as available in the archive. Copyrighted books, reviewers and restricted references remain private. Access depends on each record’s visibility and the reader’s authorization; the public catalogue and authorized research archive may show different records.

Search and reading

Library search requires the entered terms or quoted clauses to match, while word order can vary for separate terms. On a document page, phrase highlighting marks only the exact searched phrase. Page text keeps its page locator so readers can cite and compare it with the original.

Sources and text quality

A source link or source-check label helps identify where a record came from; it does not certify every transcribed word. Native text extraction and OCR can contain errors. The library does not establish whether a law remains in force or what legal effect it has today. Check the linked source, later amendments, and relevant authorities before relying on a text.

Downloads and comparison

Where available, TXT downloads provide searchable extracted text, and original files remain the reference for checking wording and layout. This library’s Philippine-law and court-reference collection is separate from the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pagadian City archive, whose search covers local legislative records. The collections do not share an index or account system.

Edgar serves as Administrative Assistant Officer I in the Records Section of the Office of the Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Pagadian City. He joined in 1994, worked in accounting until 1997, and has developed and maintained the office’s information systems since then.

His work includes the Paperless Session Program and Legislative Tracking System, data control, research analysis and day-to-day technical support. That experience shapes this library’s focus: information that is easier to find, read and check against its source.
